Gandrayani ( Angelica Glauca edgew) is an aromatic root. It is used in Kumaoni cuisine as a flavouring agent in vegetables and dals.
Gandrayani grows in the slow-moving streams, damp meadows, and forest gullies of Western Himalayas from Kashmir to Uttarakhand. It is both a great spice & a valuable medicinal herb.
It is used to increase appetite and cure stomach ailments.
